Why Do I Write?
“Is it hard to put your life out there on the blog?” That is a question I get sometimes. The answer is yes. It can be uncomfortable. I am sharing thoughts and emotions that are deep in my heart, and putting that out there on the world wide web is not easy. But over the years I have found that sharing your story is very important.
After I shared at a retreat once, a girl came over to me in tears. She asked to talk to me. We sat in the cold outside as told me that my story was her story and she has the same struggles I had. She wondered how God could ever forgive her, and said that she didn’t want to live like she was living anymore. Although a struggle at first her growth in Christ took off after that and today she is an active member in her church, sharing her story in hopes to offer them the same Hope that she knows.
He comforts us in all our troubles so that we can comfort others. When they are troubled, we will be able to give them the same comfort God has given us.
1 Corinthians 1:4
One of the biggest lies that we can believe in this life is that we are alone. However, the beautiful thing is that He designed us to share this life together. So, as uncomfortable as it is, I write in hopes that my journey will encourage you, and that you will know that you are not alone. I hope that you will know who Christ is in you, and that He is greater. I want you to know that Jesus died for you and rose again from the dead because He loves you.
Surely he took up our pain
and bore our suffering,
yet we considered him punished by God,
stricken by him, and afflicted.
But he was pierced for our transgressions,
he was crushed for our iniquities;
the punishment that brought us peace was on him, and by his wounds we are healed.
Isaiah 53: 3-5
